*** PERMANENTLY CLOSED *** I used to come here all the time as a kid/young adult growing up in LA in the late 90s/2000s. Now that i'm in San Diego, it has been a challenge to visit. My go-to orders were the beef with scallions and shrimp chow mein. The staff was very friendly to my family. The bar was always fully stocked and had great cocktails and spirits. To the staff: I hope you're doing well and thanks for the memories.

Wow every thing you order is superb! The Management corresponds with all of his guests. Kinda pre Mother's Day meal ahead of Sunday's crowd. For six of us we ordered 9 dishes. Fabulous service, Fabulous Food and an wonderful atmosphere. You can't go wrong by coming here and you won't sorry. They even have valet parking. Update 2/1/2020 Still the real deal!!! Muah always fresh. We had to flag down Andy our waiter but that changed when he seen me yelping. Haha! Thanks Jose for being so tentative and thoughtful.

Had my aunts retirement party here . Used there private room for about 20 people . They could seat more people they just closed off the room for my group of 20 . Was able to bring In my decorations , cake & balloons . Good food , great service , nice wait staff . Restaurant is clean . Validated parking right next to restaurant .. Cannot best this place . Great job !

The food was good. Not over seasoned. It is a little on the pricy side located just outside China Town. The service was fast and attentive.

Tourists will come to Chinatown in L.A. looking for the most "authentic" experience, but Plum Tree pretty much serves the same standard Chinese dishes you can get in most Chinese restuarants across the country. Plum Tree bangs them out like an assembly line, and you barely have time to get hungry before your order is right there on the table. Having said all that, while it might be the same stuff you see on Chinese menus everywhere, the taste is much, much better. Prices here are reasonable, and they serve good portion sizes. You're not going to find anything new or different here. What you will find is one of the better-tasting versions of what you've come to expect, and there's plenty to be said for that.
